Flowers

Gardens have been my “go to” for peace, inspiration, hope and clarity for many decades.

The flowers, herbs, trees, shrubs and breezes have never failed me.

Sitting on a bench in a park, garden or forest I feel the presence of the Divine.

It doesn’t take long until I remember the part of our Lord’s Prayer that says “give us this day, our daily bread.” I remember the power of Now and feel and know that whatever I need for this day is at hand. Whatever I need to do this day, my intuition will guide me to do or be.

As soon as I feel that peace, I get up and start my day.

Today I’m sharing a tiny glass flower and vase that my sister, Charmaine, gave me.

Whenever I’m not able to get to a garden, I go into my imagination or tune into the flowers in my room.

Another way I love flowers is through flower essences, books, herbs, and essential oils.

One of my favorite books is Magic Gardens, by Corinne Heline (copyright 1944). In it, she says:

“In Flowerland the whispers of heaven may become audible to the children of men; for the celestial hosts, too, have a way of ‘saying it with flowers.'”

She goes to quote this poem:

A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot!
Rose plot,
Fringed pool,
Ferned grot–
The veriest school
Of peace; and yet the fool
Contends that God is not–
Not God! in gardens! when the eve is cool?
Nay, but I have a sign;
‘Tis very sure God walks in mine.
– Thomas Edward Brown

This book describes some of  the essences of flowers that Dr. Bach discovered as healing remedies.

A modern day company that makes “flower essences” is Green Hope Farm Flower Essences.

I have used many of their essences over the years. They capture the consciousness of the flowers and put it in bottles preserved with shiso, a type of vinegar,  rather than alcohol.

Very magical. They have made essences from flowers all over the world.

Since the practitioners tune into the consciousness of the flower, you may also receive benefits by reading the descriptions on their website. I particularly love the “Venus Garden” and the “Irish  collection.”

One thing flowers thrive on is Appreciation. Try standing next to a flower you love and tell it how beautiful it is.  Maybe say you love its color, shape and fragrance, or just send it love and thanks from your heart. You wIll have made its day. The joy will spill right over into your day.

Flower essences, summary and easy procedure (video) to create your own

I first began writing my blog in 2010 as backup material and handouts for classes I was teaching. Since glorious Spring has arrived I wanted to republish one of my favorites. This one was first published April 13, 2011.

You may want to try making your own flower essences.

I love Green Hope Farm Essences. They have a wide variety. I have enjoyed their Irish Collection very much. As you browse their website, the write-ups for each flower are so in-depth and spiritual that just reading about each flower starts your appreciation of  what they have to share with you.

Eckhart Tolle, in his book, A New Earth: Awakening to your Life’s Purpose, teaches us that:

“Earth, 114 million years ago, one morning just after sunrise: The first flower ever to appear on the planet opens up to receive the rays of the sun.”

“Seeing beauty in a flower could awaken humans, however briefly, to the beauty that is an essential part of their own innermost being, their true nature.”

Sananda has told me many times that beauty contains truth. Also that when we are vibrating at our Love Nature, we can appreciate beauty and crave to have beauty in our lives.

Flowers have learned a lot in 114 million years of how to live and thrive on Earth.

They have an infinite amount of wisdom to share with us.

As we have learned “Quite simply put flowers heal,”  Dr. Edward Bach.

This article (with some expansion to it) has been taken from the book, “The How and Why of Flower Essences,” by Nina Lee Wilkins copyright 2011.

The single video above shows in a very simple way how to make your own flower essences.  Why bother?

“Every flower bears a starry imprint.”  Paracelsus

Many subtle things happen for you while making and using flower essences.  Flowers represent the Divine Mystery of LOVE.  You may have heard the expression: God laughs in flowers.  Also one of my favorites that has been seen posted in many a garden public and private:

The Lord God planted a garden

In the first white days of the world,

And He set there an angel warden

In a garment of light unfurled.

The kiss of the sun for pardon,

The song of the birds for mirth,

One is nearer God’s heart in a garden

Than anywhere else on earth.

–Dorothy Frances Gurney in “Magic Gardens” by Corinne Heline, New Age Press 1944

A metaphysical principle states that all thought is creative.  Take that one step further with the principle that we can only think one thought at a time.  Next, God’s thoughts are real and eternal and are love.  Flowers bring us in tune with this reality as they are from the light.  As you stand still and look to the top or sides of a flower, softly focusing your attention, you may observe this light or aura.

When we work with flower essences we are working with God’s thoughts in spirit, manifested in form here in the physical.  Another way of saying this is that flowers are a manifestation of the light or angelic kingdoms.  We can think of flowers as angels manifest.

Another metaphysical principal we are working with is that God is all Good.  God has created every living thing as a unique manifestation, whether it is a snowflake, bird, or human.  Each is unique in some way.  Flowers are like that.  Each has its own vibrational signature even within its own species.  Roses have unique qualities such as peace and harmony within the same type of plant.  Because of these principles and unique mysterious qualities of the Divine we can tap into the subtle vibrations of a plant and bring that quality to our own being and consciousness.  As we do this we are lifted above the thought-form that caused our distress.

Because we can only think one thought at a time, and because we are connected with all that is, nature, God, and the universe we can utilize the vibration and light of the flower to join with our light and beingness and raise our frequencies.  In doing so we may harmonize our emotional body, which releases any energy that is not of a high vibration such as fear (stress), anxiety etc. which we know, over time, does not bring our birthright of Health.

Rock Rose

Flower essences work on our subtle bodies.  In knowing and believing that we have subtle bodies a whole new world is opened up to us.  We can hold our thought on the beauty, fragrance, shape, and essence of a flower and in that way prepare for what it has to give us. We can also use prepared flower essences that carry the signature vibration, or essence of the flower, shrub, or tree.   Flowers, like people, live for appreciation.  As you stand and appreciate a flower you may see its petals turn toward you.   As you are in the state of appreciation you are in the same vibraton as love and you are in tune with the Divine Mystery.  As you “tune in” to the flower you may begin the process of your own Divine inspiration.  This in and of itself is very uplifting.  We already know that as we uplift ourselves we begin attacting more of the same qualities.  Start observing which flower you are attracted to.  That flower has a gift for you.

Another aspect of flower essences is the fact that we are literally sending a telegraphic message to the Angelic kingdom that says, “help! I’m asking for one or several of your light qualities to help me balance my emotions, thoughts, attitudes to harmony, love, and joy.  Thank you.  Would you share your essence with me for that purpose?”  Angels and flowers prefer to be asked for specific help.  They do not interfere with you or your Divine Free Will but “live” to help humanity at their request.

Yellow Rose

I hope you will consider these thoughts and try them out.  One of the things I love about working with flowers is how fun it is to discover the many mysteries of their world.  I always feel more joy and delight after working with them.  Being in nature of itself is uplifting, and discovering the infinite ways God’s love is given to us makes it even more worthwhile.  So, have fun experimenting with making your own flower essences or just plant a garden and sit quietly in it often.  Much love to you, Nina

Flower Essences

Flowers, Gardens and Flower Essences have always been some of my favorite bridges of love light. Whether I’m in very intense circumstances or just a slight melancholy mood they have never failed to uplift me. I have written extensively about their inspirational and uplifting properties in this blog.  Today I will expand upon those.

I first was aware of the Scarlet Pimpernel when I was nine years old. I was helping my Mom weed our garden and she was pulling out heaps of Scarlet Pimpernels. At the time, I didn’t know their name, and neither did she. I said, “Mom, these are so pretty. They don’t look like weeds.” “No, they are weeds.”

I was looking closely at them with their delicate color and sweet shape. I couldn’t really believe they were weeds, and felt a little sad seeing them piled up and then tossed in the garbage can. The other sad part was we just left plain dirt in that spot and didn’t plant more flowers. It was about 50 years later that I discovered their name and very real significance in my life.

These little flowers, which are called the wayside flowers or “weather glass” in the United Kingdom, would become my guide and teacher over many years. They are called the “Weather Glass” because when they are open, a sunny day; closed, rain or fog. Their presence has had such a positive and helpful effect on my personal, spiritual life that I have decided to write a book about them.

I will be excerpting portions of this book over the next few months: Sananda’s Flower, The Scarlet Pimpernel. Seeing the great in the small and the small in the great. Copyright 2021, by Nina Lee Wilkins.

Today I hope you will receive an uplift as I have from the Photographs of these Flowers. The “Scarlets,” as I like to call them, are in the photo above.

Over the years, I have used and discovered many flower essence companies. Bach Flower Essences, the leader, and several others. I have looked for a company that has made “Scarlet Pimpernel” essences and just found one a few months ago; Green Hope Farm. I ordered the Scarlet Pimpernel from Ireland, delightful, and one from Italy. I love them both; such a discovery and surprise after all these years. I have made my own, also, which always gives me joy.

Green Hope Farm is a treasure if you are new at using flower essences or have tried many other companies. Either way, these are the highest frequencies I have discovered so far.

I receive benefits just by reading their descriptions on their website.

Whether looking at photos of flowers with their amazing ethereal colors, using flower essences or using essential oils as aroma therapy or skin conditioner, or sitting next to them in your garden, flowers are my favorite bridges of love light. Don’t forget, flowers live for appreciation. As you tell them how much you appreciate them you may even even see them nod or turn their  head towards you. Sananda has told me often that they are helping heal Grandmother Earth and Mother Nature, including us.

The Amazing Healing Properties of Flowers

The amazing healing properties of flowers

As in the title of this blog, many years ago Sananda told me the earth would be healed by Grandmothers, Flowers and Children, including your child within, who is innocent. Working with him over the years I learned the importance of innocence, our true Divine Nature, the inclusiveness of his teachings and the power of flowers. It’s very easy to understand the healing power of Grandmothers with their wisdom and love for their grandchildren. Today we will speak of the healing power of Flowers.

As shared in a previous article here, Dr. Edward Bach, M.D., was a pioneer in discovering flowers’ essences could help his patients. He stated, “quite simply, flowers heal.” Today, his five-flower remedy, Rescue Remedy, is widely available and used all over the world.

You can easily learn how to make your own flower essences. They are fun to make and easy to use. The video linked here teaches you the basics.

Sananda also taught me that Flowers are some of the strongest beings on earth. Such a paradox seeing how fragile and beautiful they are with almost intoxicating fragrances. He has also taught me that Nova Earth is filled with paradoxes as we move into understanding wholeness and inclusiveness; a shift from duality. He often tells me, “Look toward what you want to create; focus there.”

I would like to help create heaven on Earth, and in my world that means a return to Eden: GARDENS.

Flowers and herbs are the most helpful remedies I have found in the physical world, as they are bridges to heaven or the spiritual world. In an herbal class I took, the instructor had been taught by a shaman who had learned the essences of the herbs with his eyes covered with a cloth. He felt they were holy and that he needed to feel and be spiritually guided as to their purpose.

Flowers can uplift your spirits and just make you feel good, which is a big leap towards wellness. A bouquet by your bedside, or aromatherapy with an essential oil or a flower essence are all helpful to your whole self. Other comforting ways to “feel good,” which we have learned from Abraham and the Hicks’ teachings as being the most important way for us to attract our good, might be walking through a garden.

There are so many ways to enjoy Flowers. They can be dried, preserved with sugar and egg whites and eaten or used to brighten your salad or garnish your favorite dish. I highly recommend watching Chef’s Table “Jeong Kwan,” from season three. Netflix says of the episode: “In South Korea, Buddhist nun, Jeong Kwan, approaches cooking as a spiritual practice. Her meals, including her Lotus Flower tea, have left some of the world’s best chefs in awe.” Watching her make the Lotus Flower tea is a treat and such a great example of enjoying all the sublime attributes of flowers.

When you make your flower essence, make sure you have identified the flower correctly. Some of the most beautiful flowers are poisonous. Also make sure they are organic. Don’t collect or forage from roadsides. I learned this the hard way when I had my sister and her husband for dinner. I was excited to make them one of my favorite rice dishes that contained a large amount of dill weed. I saw large bunches along the roadside and was so excited to collect them. When it was time to serve the rice it had a dark green color and smelled of licorice. It turned out I had collected anise, which looks very much like dill! So, off we went to Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour for dinner.

God Laughs in Flowers

Laughter is the best medicine.

Flowers are one of the strongest creations on Earth, so I would like to invite you to explore the benefits to your well being and wellness by trying a variety of flower essences and essential oils. You may discover for yourself why Sananda has told me that the Earth will be healed by flowers, Grandmothers and your innocence.

The most well known and popular flower essence is Bach’s Rescue Remedy. It is an all-around stress reducer and acts in a potent way to calm and bring peace during any crises, even if they are as small as the jitters you may have before a public speaking engagement. Flower essences can balance your emotional state, allowing any health-giving regimen a better chance to work. My own theory of why they work so well is that I believe flowers are incarnate Angels.

Whether a bouquet on your desk or night stand, essential oils as aroma therapy or a treat for you in your bath, flowers are healers and worth your attention. Edible flowers also bring beauty, joy and songs from the fairy kingdoms to your salads and desserts.

One stunning spring day my friends, Janette and Lorna, and I set out to hike in our favorite place, Soberanes Canyon, to make our own flower essences. Some days are sublime in every way with sweet breezes, wild flower fragrances, sunlight that sparkles and colors that look otherworldly. The nature spirits abound in this park, as it hasn’t been disturbed and is in the magical, mystical coast redwoods of Big Sur, California. We were all in a very good mood, being together on this glorious day, going for a hike and a picnic with a purpose of making a very special flower essence, Mountain Sorrel.

We found our special spot for our picnic under the Redwood canopy with Mountain Sorrel all around us. We had brought our special water and utensils and were ready to begin making the essence.

We were all very amazed, surprised and in wonderment when the flowers started singing. We were alone, and the strongest substances we had eaten were oranges and Chai tea. We were all glad that we were witnesses to this phenomenon together; we all heard it. My friend Janette sang back to the flowers, which increased our laughs and fun. We made the essences and felt very blessed and loved.

The effect this experience had on us was pure Joy. We all spontaneously sang hymns on our hike back, and the amazing part was that we were singing the words to songs we didn’t know. A very curious and very fun day, inspired by the overlighting devas of the woods and flowers– and Love.

I hope you will enjoy learning about the amazing being that a flower is. Their essences are easy to make. Instructions are given here in an earlier blog.

Why flower essences? Part III

Part III

To continue:  “Quite simply put, flowers heal” Dr. Edward Bach

Just beginning to think about flowers as healers has an impact on your consciousness.  Whenever we can take a step back from our worries, aches, pains, fears, or sorrows and know help is at hand in the simplest of forms we have moved slightly out of a negative mind generated space to one a little more positive.  I’ve found that when I just sit in a beautiful nature spot or garden and just “be” for as little as 15 minutes a change will come over me.  Stress and worry will dissipate naturally as the breeze blows old thought -forms away.  If you will just sit and let your thoughts flow by, as when you meditate, and then sit a little longer, maybe 20 minutes it is very likely that you will feel an uplift or sense of peace.  If your mind keeps chattering about all of the things you need to do, just say, “alright, it will all get done better in harmony” just relax for a minute.  Very likely then you will smell a sweet fragrance you hadn’t noticed:  a flower’s perfume that with your mind and thoughts racing you hadn’t noticed or smelled.  Then, maybe an insect, bird or butterfly will land near you.  This is my favorite part of noticing the subtle shift in my own energy, when it is calm and gentle and harmless enough to attract these little beings.  This is the framework or space in which you can receive the subtle energies of flowers.  As we are in this gentle space of communion with nature  we relax, let go of stress and breathe.  Since well-being and love is our core energy we allow our higher-self to give us inspiration on what course to take.  Our intuition is enhanced and inspiring thoughts begin to stream in.  Yes, all of this from breathing deeply,  andrelaxing into a garden or nature. Why flower essences? Part 2

To continue:

Why flower essences?  First, what is a flower essence?  It is the captured living essence of a flower.  It is the vibration of the flower and it’s consciousness.  With this in mind you can intuit that something different is going on in the use of flower essences than we are used to in the ordinary phenomenal world.  Yes, that is true.  Flower essences are a vibrational healing system discovered by Dr. Edward Bach in the early part of the 20th Century.  I encourage you to go to the resources section of this blog and click on Bach Centre for more background information on the subject.

The field of vibrational healing is the healing system of the future which is Now.

Flower essences are considered a complementary therapy to homeopathy and other natural healing remedies including spiritual healing.  Spiritual healing starts with the premise that we are connected to a loving source, or creator which has the quality of well-being, hence well-being is our own core state of being.  It is not too far a leap from this knowingness to the idea that a flower could help us, since God, good is everywhere present.

Remember, in our spiritual (metaphysical practice) we always begin with love.  We are love and have God within us.

When we start there. receiving the bond between the plant and human realms is easy to believe.  Just as every human is unique with certain qualities so are flowers unique.  They have a very high ethereal quality and vibration.

Love is inclusive.  When we include and accept flowers into our consciousness as beings of light we can begin to make the evolutionary consciousness leaps that expands our cosmology and world view to allow for God, good to be everywhere present and in expressions that are helpful and good.  Flowers live for appreciation and are teaching us the power of appreciation to help us in every aspect of our lives.  I have loved to watch the improvement, in health, prosperity, and a sense of caring,  of impoverished inner cities with the advent of community gardens.  When a plant or flower or tree is present and alive an area is uplifted.  As more people join together in making the gardens their lives begin to be uplifted also.

It is not much of a stretch for most people to believe in “flower power” as gardening is the number one most popular hobby in the United States.

When we open to the possibility of this Universe being extremely friendly with an abundance of helpers at so many levels and forms we can begin to open to our good as Divine children.

As Dr. Bach discovered, “Quite simply put, flowers heal.”

Why flower essences?

Remember, in our metaphysical and Spiritual practice we always begin with Love.  Love is the most powerful force in the universe.  Why flower essences?  Flowers are a Divine expression of Love and are a bridge to your well-being and health.

Traditionally, we’ve taken flowers to sit on a loved one’s bed side table to encourage health, not even knowing that more than their fragrance, beauty, and color, their very essence heals.  Flowers are from the light, the Angelic and Devic world of love.  Their beingness IS love-light.

The hit play, and then movie ,”Steel Magnolias” had the essence of flowers correct: Stength in beauty, love, gentleness, wisdom ,and humor, while loving life through joy and  all of its heartaches.  The Divine feminine (which is also contained within men) and embodies in women, is expressed as strenth in love with beauty, grace ,and sweet fragrance, like flowers.

With this in mind, you may begin to understand how flower essences work.  Their essence is from the light realms and work on a vibrational level.  They work with your emotions, thoughts, consciousness and body to attain balance and peace.  We know from many recent medical reports that the root cause of most illness or dis-ease is stress.  So it follows that when you attain peace, your natural well-being surfaces and health along with it.

When we have peace and balance in our emotions our own immune system can heal us naturally.  When you use flower essences you are mentally telegraphing the angelic and devic kingdom for specific help.  Angels are in the spirit world all around us and the Devas are on the physical plane though just not visible to most humans as their vibration is so high.
